How much does an auto glass technician earn?
Auto glass technicians replace and repair vehicle glass: windscreens, side and rear windows as well as panoramic and laminated glass – in specialist shops, workshops, for insurers and often mobile at the customer. They work with special adhesives, account for sensors and cameras and make vehicles safe and sealed again. Gross pay depends on region, collective agreements, employer, mobile work and specialisation (e.g. ADAS calibration). As a guide, qualified professionals in Germany in 2026 often earn about €3,000–€3,550 gross per month; during apprenticeship around €950–€1,270 is typical.
Salary by region (gross/month)
Guide figures as of 2026. The apprenticeship column means typical pay in dual training (often via related trades such as glazier or lateral entry with in-house training); qualified means practising auto glass technicians. Actual pay depends on collective agreements, employer, region, mobile work, ADAS skills, experience and order situation and is not a guarantee.
