Der ASB Kreisverband Torgau-Oschatz bildet jährlich zum 1 September Köchinnen und Köche im Haus am Stadtpark in Dommitzsch aus. Die dreijährige praktische Ausbildung erfolgt in der Einrichtung mit 80 Bewohnerinnen und Bewohnern und umfasst Lebensmittelvorbereitung, Speisenzubereitung, Hygiene, Speiseplangestaltung und Kalkulation. Regionale Ausbildungspartner sind unter anderem der goldene Anker, die Fleischerei Bachmann und die Bäckerei Füchsel. Die Ausbildungsvergütung beträgt 900 Euro, 1000 Euro und 1100 Euro in den drei Lehrjahren; genannt werden außerdem Küchenbekleidung, Sicherheitsschuhe sowie vermögenswirksame Leistungen und betriebliche Altersvorsorge. Die Ausbildung richtet sich an Interessierte mit Freude am Kochen und am Umgang mit Seniorinnen und Senioren.
